O! Maha Mount Dangrek ( Poetry)

On April 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM, Cambodians in the city of Fresno, California had a chance to meet Mr. Samkhann C. Khoeun, Editor & Translator of the book O! Maha Mount Dangrek. Ms. Srey Peou Phoeun and Mr. Sinat Nhok , who both trained in traditional poetry, came from Cambodia, chanted and performed Khmer music, at the Ratanakmondol Temple. Their performances reminded us a lot about our lives during the Khmer Rouge regime and the refugee’s experience.
One of Ms. Srey Peou Phoeun’s poetry chanting performance highlighted the values of the mother and father that no such thing can buy. The message for all of us is that we must love and care for our parents.
